Entamoeba Histolytica: protocol advice for a common parasite

Parasites 🦠 are so much more common than you think!! Today I want to highlight a nasty one called Entamoeba Histolytica.

Here are a few fun facts about it:
πŸ‘‰πŸ» It infects 30-55 million people worldwide
πŸ‘‰πŸ» More common when living or traveling to tropical areas
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Transmitted through contaminated food or water
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Pets can be a source of exposure
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Sexual contact may also be a source of exposure
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Can affect the liver and cause liver accesses
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Can spread to other organs like the lungs and brain but is not as common
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Causes leaky gut
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Can cause abdominal pain/cramping and loose stools

When we see this pathogen, we also take a good look at the calprotectin and SIgA levels to see what their inflammatory and immune response is.

Then create a protocol using the 5R Method:
β˜‘οΈ Remove: includes antiparisitic herbals and essential oils
β˜‘οΈ Replace: digestive support to improve overall digestion
β˜‘οΈ Reinoculate: recolonization with pre and probiotics
β˜‘οΈ Repair: improving the immune system, decreasing inflammation, repairing the gut lining
β˜‘οΈ Rebalance: we work on sleep, diet/lifestyle, movement, stress

It is a process but having a gut that is healed and being free of symptoms whether GI related or extra-GI manifestations (weight gain, brain fog, hormone imbalance, poor immunity, skin breakouts, etc) is worth it’s weight in GOLD!!!
